Week Eight: Summer Bodies Are Made In The Winter

It’s a new week, Momshells!

With spring quickly approaching (but not fast enough for those of us with lingering winter temperatures), the pressure is now on to make headway on those swimsuit goals for summer!

It’s ok if you have dragged your feet during the winter or you are just getting started now- we got this!

My advice when people ask me how to get back on track or even how to get started working towards a goal (and I get asked this a lot) is to start with getting organized in the kitchen.

Purge your pantry of junk and make space for fresh, new ingredients by also pitching stale or expired items in your cupboards.

Make a list and head to the store.

Make sure you have a good supply of food storage containers as you begin to do your food prep for the week.

I think that food prep is ESSENTIAL to a clean lifestyle and needs to be first priority when trying to reach that fitness or weight loss goal.

The next step is scheduling in at least 3-4 weekly workouts and making those happen.

I always say you’ve got to be patient with yourself and allow at least 3 days to detox from junk and processed foods and about 2 weeks to see changes on the scale.

You might see changes in how your pants fit within the first couple of days- that’s great!  Keep going!

On this week’s menu, you will delight your tastebuds with the sweet and spicy Asian flavors of my Perfect Pad Thai with Chicken or Shrimp.

This dish is surprisingly easy and the rice noodles will satisfy that pasta craving.

You’ll also get your chocolate fix with my Chocolate Pretzel Smoothie!  This is thick and chocolatey with a great deal less fat and sugar than a real milkshake!

For dinner, you’ll be making my Spinach, Feta and Cranberry Turkey Burgers.  I have put these burgers on a thin, wheat bun that you will find in most grocery stores.

Aldi supermarket even has a version of these and with fewer calories and carbs, these hamburger bun alternatives are a nice swap!

Have a great week, Momshells!

xoxo
